PT Weda Bay Nickel (WBN) has started the construction of Nickel ore smelter with pyrometallurgy / RKEF technology with capacity of 30.000 ton Ni/ year, which is located at Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP). The smelter is planned to do the production operation in 2020, which will potentially absorb around 2.500 workers.
PT WBN has secured AMDAL in 2009 from Provincial Government of North Moluccas which consist of mining and smelting activities. In 2014, AMDAL has been upgraded into Environment Permit issued by Ministry of Environment. PT WBN has the commitments toward environmental sustainability by ensuring the environment policy, environmental management and monitoring plan and mitigation hierarchy in handling environmental impacts.

PT Yashi Indonesia Investment is a joined venture company between Zhenshi Holding Group, Co.,Ltd, Shanghai Decent Investment (Group) CO., LTD and Zhejiang Huajun Investment Co., LTD.
PT Yashi Indonesia Investment will build ferronickel smelter with estimated production capacity will reach up to 300.000 ton / year.
Youshan Nickel Indonesia Company is a joined venture company between Huayou group and Tsingshan group as a pioneer of battery component producer for electric vehicle/EV in Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) area.
Youshan Nickel Indonesia Company will produce Nickel Sulphate with capacity of 130,000 mt year in 2020. In order to support the project, there will be built also 250MW power plant and port with capacity of 50.000mt.mt.
