About Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park

Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) is an integrated industrial area for heavy metal processing located in Lelilef Village, Weda District, Central Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province. Established on August 30, 2018, IWIP is part of:

  • National Priority Projects based on PERPRES No. 18 concerning the 2020-2024 National Mid-Term Development Plan
  • Stated as a National Vital Object based on Presidential Decree no. 63 Year 2004
  • One of the National Strategic Projects by President Joko Widodo through the ratification of Presidential Regulation (PERPRES) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 109 of 2020 concerning the Third Amendment to Presidential Regulation Number 3 of 2016 concerning Acceleration of Implementation of National Strategic Project

Contribution to Human Resources

By 2021, IWIP has recruited more than 24.000 workres.

Going forward, the number of recruits will continue to increase. By 2022 IWIP targets as many as more than 36.000 local workers.

Contribution to Economy

North Maluku GRDP in Quarter IV 2020 is 9.48%, with the largest growth-share being the Processing Industry at 5.47%. North Maluku’s GRDP will be the highest in Indonesia in 2020.

The level of workers absorption and community welfare is not only attractive to residents around the area, but also people outside North Maluku Province.

Corporate Social Responsibility

In carrying out its social responsibilities, IWIP is following the principles of sustainable development (SDGs) which are then implemented in the CSR Program. That refers to 4 (four) main pillars, namely:

Education

Facilities and infrastructure assistance for 25 schools, from Early childhood education programs, Elementary School, Junior High School, Senior High School, Vocational High School, to Islamic boarding schools in Central Halmahera and East Halmahera

Infrastructure

  1. Roads construction in Sawai, Waibulan, Gemaf villages, with a total road length of 7,2 km.
  2. Roads construction in Gwomdi, Gemaf, Tabalik with a total road length of 1,5 km

Health

  1. Weda Hospital Pavilion’s Construction.
  2. Covid-19 Treatment in 2020-2021

Social

Assistance for developing:
  • Mosque (8 buildings)
  • Church (2 buildings)
